MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Locations across the Twin Cities are accepting medicines for safe disposal.
The drop-off locations will accept prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements and pet medicines. Locations will not accept needles, sharps or syringes.
The Plymouth Public Safety Department says proper disposal of unused medicine helps prevent prescription drug abuse and accidental overdoses. Medicine that is improperly disposed of can contaminate water and hurt wildlife.
